Alice Wong (b. 1999, she/her) is a Hong Kong-British artist based in London. She completed her Foundation Diploma at Kingston School of Art and her BA (Hons) at Newcastle University.
Alice is interested in feminist ideas surrounding monumentality, believing that significant and monumental art is not defined by size or the ambition of an idea.
Working with smaller and lighter materials such as paper or fabric, Alice elevates the significance of sketches, cross-stitch patterns, and textiles. She strives to reclaim these subtle marks of care and femininity, translating them into expressions of subtle power.
Alice believes that all art is a collaboration with what has come before; collaboration playing a central role in her practice.
